Goodbye dysmenorrhea

I was chatting with my relatives earlier back in Cebu and I know that one of my nieces was in the room resting because she got cramps on her belly especially during the first day of her period. So I was prompted to write this thing.

I had dysmenorrhea (a painful menstruation) for years and I remember each time I have a period my mother always gave me a bottle of black beer or called it "serbesa negra". She told me that if I drink it will make the blood out more and more and will ease me up. Well, I had tried this but for me it did not work on my cramps, but one thing it worked well for me, I began to like the beer as early as in my teens. And obviously I love beers today!

So during my teens I had suffered this pain, so unpleasant that I don't want to move or do, all I want is to rest, but if it's during school days I force myself to go to school because I don't want to be absent from the class anyway. And I can't forget the time when I collapsed because of this cramp just right in front of my teacher. It was my Physics laboratory class and we were sitted all and in the big table my teacher demonstrating the various tools, etc. I suddenly bowed my head and became unconscious so they brought me to the clinic. When I was awaken they gave me something to take, 250mg Midol and since then this pain reliver became my bestfriend during the times I have my period.

Some people said that dysmenorrhea will be gone after giving birth. I prove them right. When I have my period after giving birth to la grande I didn't feel any pain in my belly. After two months of giving birth I had seen my OB-Gyne for a compulsory check-up and I had the time to asked her about the cramps that is gone for good and she said, she had cleaned and had removed some blood from my uterus. I didn't see her doing this thing because after giving birth to la grande I was very tired from the long labor and right after the anesthetist came to me and he said to inject few anesthesia then seconds after I was sleeping. MK was in the room but he never saw the process as there were four nurses surrounding me. When I woke up the doctor told me that she had removed the placenta and had cleaned inside and that everything is okay. And so when I was giving birth to la petite, good thing also that I did not have this hemorrhage and so I was awake all the time. There I saw the doctor cleaning inside my womb and I was surprised because I saw her arm inside almost up to her elbow. Whew! I felt her hand moving inside because my epidural anesthesia began to subside and I'd even felt when she did the stiching. Aww!
Now, I'm happy that I have escaped this dysmenorrhea... forever.
Bon, c'était une bonne expérience. (Well, it was a good experience.)

One bad day

March 9, 2010.
^
Oui, j'arrive dans demi-heure. That was MK's last line before we hang up the phone, saying that he comes/arrives in half an hour.

We agreed to go somewhere the four of us, so MK would be and should be home at 6:30 p.m. I prepared the girls and myself as well so by the time MK arrive, we are ready. Whenever we we have a night out he always gives what hour he comes and he always arrive on time, he never fails. If he is late it would be just a minute or two. Bon, I watched the clock from time to time and it's already past 7 p.m., so I thought MK had a flat tire on his bike. Usually it takes him 30 to 40 minutes passing the three towns before he gets home. Again and again I watch the clock and it's 8 p.m, then 9 p.m. and so on, I thought something is wrong with him.
^
I called the police station in our town and they said they don't have reports of an accident. Actually, it was in the other town where the accident happened the police municipale failed to contact me for MK gave the wrong number.
It's been almost a year since MK uses a road bike for winter and earth bike for summer going to work and back, that is if the weather is fine -- no rain, no snow. For him biking is the only sport he can do at the moment while he wanted badly to lose some weights. Actually, he did lose some weights, from 105 kilos before, now he weighs 91 kilos by biking every other day, some runnings on weekend and later swimming, well to complete his triathlon wish.
And later in that evening, 15 minutes before midnight, I received a call fom the Doctor saying that hubby had an accident versus a car. He told me not to worry because he is alive and he is taking cared of at the ER, but I couldn't help my tears falling when he said "ll a beaucoup de fractures" and he mentioned those fractures which I couldn't hear clearly. He has/got many fractures, oh and I thought what if he has fractures in the spinal column etc, those important parts, and worst he couldn't walk anymore...etc. all these bothers me the whole night.
The following day we visited the hospital with MK's mom as well. MK had some fractures, in fact the list is almost a page of a bondpaper. To name a few, his right shoulder is severely injured, some broken ribs, etc, his right cheekbone was dislocated and had two surgeries on his face. His head is untouched and his legs are all fine. He was able to walk on the fourth day of his admission.
^
It was MK's fault, he is suppose to stop on the line where there is "Cedez le passage" or give way sign but instead he continues and bikes so fast that he loses contol when making the right turn, he never made it to the right lane and he ended up in the left lane where the car is coming. The impact is heavy and that it left MK unconscious for minutes and some bloody thing on his face while waiting the ambulance car. A week after MK checked out from the hospital, he called the driver of the car he bumped with. The driver Mr. L. told him that MK was so fast that day and when he brake his bike, his body thrown onto the front of his car. He further said that his car is into pieces and that it is already in the scrapyard. Well, he told us that he will visit the house but he never did.

Now, it's almost a month from his accident, he recovers 80 percent of the fractures but still he keeps his right arm not to use/move much (there is still pain if he force to). I drive him to hospital at least twice a week for checkup and later this month, he will undergo kinesitherapy.

his head is unharm, save by this helmet

Above all, I am thankful to God for saving his life, I'd prefer to be busy all the time taking care of hubby and the girls than losing him.

J'aime la vie quand même. (I love life just the same)

Leaving in 7 hours

I've been busy and lazy lately. I didn't write a lot even if I'm not that occupied anymore. Well, I'm a little sad to leave Cebu and be apart from my dear friends and family again, but at the same time I'm excited to see la petite for I miss her a lot.

I didn't write much about my vacation here in Cebu, but I will try to write some when I'm back in France.
At the moment, I just checked my luggage if all things I wanted to bring are in. Well, sure my stay here was great and fun with my family and friends around. Only one thing I miss to visit--the beaches which my ear infection prevented me. Next time.

Bon, I'll be leaving in some hours from now...

Blanche's pre-birthday party

e

It was an impromptu birthday party (advance) for la grande. Actually, she will turn two years old next month but I was thinking that it would be better to have a little party for her taking advantage of our place--where there are some children.

It was fun to host a kiddie party like this, oh well, we will see next time--when la petite comes here.
